Post Katrina Relief Efforts
Ballston Lake Baptist Church has been involved for the past two years in post Katrina relief efforts in Lakeshore, Mississippi. Rebuild Lakeshore is a ministry of Lakeshore Baptist Church. To learn more about this effort, please visit: www.rebuildlakeshore.com

Radio Broadcast (Ballston Lake Pulpit)
The radio broadcast, "Ballston Lake Pulpit," features sermons from the preaching ministry of Pastor George McDearmon. These sermons are edited to fit a 30 minute weekly radio broadcast. Full length, unedited versions are available to listeners upon request. Ballston Lake Pulpit is broadcast in the Capital Region of New York as well as in central New York. Arbor Hill Feeding Center
This ministry is directed by Victory Christian Church of Albany, New York. Ballston Lake Baptist Church partners in this effort on the 2nd Lord's Day of each month by sending one of three teams of members to the Arbor Hill Feeding Center to assist in the following:

  • Prepare the menu
  • Provide meals
  • Build relationships
  • Share the gospel

Saratoga Nursing Home
Members of Ballston lake Baptist Church visit the Saratoga Nursing Home on the third Lord's Day afternoon of each month. Members visit with the residents and provide a thirty minute worship service in which one of the church's men delivers the message.

Women's Prayer Meetings
On the 3rd Tuesday of each month the women of the church gather for fellowship and to pray for mission endeavors at home and abroad.

Men's Prayer Meetings
On the last Saturday of each month the men gather for fellowship and to pray for one another and for matters of concern to the church.

Potential Leaders' Class
The aim of this class is to develop men who will provide next generation leadership for the church. The format involves reading assignments, DVD and live lectures as well as opportunities for public ministry.

Ladies' Reading Group
As an application of the mentoring relationship between the older women and young women described in Titus 2, the Ladies Reading Group is conducted on select Friday mornings during the fall, winter and spring. Books which address domestic issues and subjects related to Christian womanhood are read and discussed under the guidance of some of the church's older women.

Memorial Day Picnic
A highlight of the year is the gathering at the Fireman's Grove in the village of Ballston Lake for this time of remembrance of the nation's war dead. Brethren from various churches join us for this event which affords opportunities for fellowship and recreation.
